Tori (Chicken) Teriyaki

Thanks to the Japanese for bringing teriyaki to the world! Although teriyaki is easy to make at home for most (given that there are instructions and cooking guides), it is always pleasant to order this comfort food in restaurants.

In many cultures, eating chicken is always safe. So if you are looking for a Japanese culture in a food, never hesitate to try this Tori Teriyaki. A single order for this Tori Teriyaki menu includes one miso soup. Chicken lovers who are fan of anything Japanese will surely love this. The miso soup though did not befriended my palate maybe because not everyone is familiar with some ‘other’ Japanese food — and the latter isn’t a familiar food to me.

Cost: 130 Pesos

Compared with the popular chicken inasal of Mang Inasal with unlimited rice, this food has nothing to say in terms of economics. People, especially the Filipino consumers, will likely look for affordable yet sulit food. But of course, dining in a food court inside a premier mall, the cost of operation is never cheap.

But as I said, if you are someone who is looking for a convenient place to dine with the touch of Japanese culture, then you’ll surely love this food. The cost is I think considerate somehow.

Don Don Tei, SM City Clark

So the name of the food hub where I ordered this food is Don Don Tei. The food hub is located at the food court of SM City Clark in Angeles City, Pampanga, Philippines.

The advantage of dining in this area is the convenience. You can also see the dancing fountain outside while dining.

Ending Personal Insights

I was with my mom today. It is our first time to go to Clark. She (my mom) was so happy with the food. She said she never tried this before (because my mom is fond of eating in Jollibee and she thinks restaurants other than the fast food chains are extra expensive. Somehow she’s right).

I just hope that someday, I can give my mom many food she never tried before because when I was still studying, she limits what she ate not because she was on a diet but because she limits her expenses just to be able to send me to school. I love you ma! We’ll eat more food! We will!
